Despite my earlier musings the Christmas spirit is starting to prevail. Last night I went out to a party at Burswood and they played games like “pin the nose on Rudolf” as well as convincing five people to enter a Christmas Carol singing competition.
The first person to sing chose to sing “Silent Night” in Vietnamese and my goodness… There were 500 people at the dinner and you could have heard a pin drop. She sang with such conviction and spirit that by the end of it I had tears in my eyes.
Once she had finished, two of the other participants returned to their seats, deciding that they could not possibly compete. Naturally, she won, and it was requested that she sing it again.
Definitely feel that Christmas spirit coming on.
