Chris Eccleston Topless

A while ago, a friend of mine googled for photos of Christopher Eccleston topless after watching that episode of Doctor Who and was disapointed to find the only reference was someone elses blog, complaining about the lack of photographs…

I don’t believe I am doing this but, Mandy, this one’s for you :P

I really need to get a life!

Bali Again

There is a greeting used in Islamic parts of Indonesia. It is the Arabic assalamualaikum, it means “peace be on you”. This is the true meaning of Islam, not a cowardly act by people who use religion as an excuse to carry out vile acts against other people to forward their own ideals.

What end does bombing restaurants in tourist areas have. Does it strike a blow against western imperialists?

No! It destabilises the economy which is already volatile after a previous bombing and the recent increase in fuel prices.

The biggest victims of this latest terror attack will of course be the Indonesian people in particular the Balinese who rely heavily on the tourist trade.

I have been in contact with four friends of mine who live there and thankfully they are all ok, I have two close friends, Evi and Juliana who work in the tourist industry. Evi’s friend is the manager of the restaurant in Kuta that was bombed. I have not heard if he is ok but when I spoke to Juliana on Saturday night she said that both her and Evi were worried. I spoke to Evi on the phone this evening but there is no way I could ask her about that.

Olde Perth

This page is archived from a static page – some links may not work

There have been quite a few photos of buildings and architecture appearing on this site. I though I would share with you a few of Perth’s older buildings

The old Treasury Building

The Perth Town Hall

Actually, I have no idea what this building is, I just pass it every day and it caught my eye

Thursday Challenge – My favourite

This page is archived from a static page – some links may not work

15 William Street, Perth

I’ve been waiting for an excuse to post this photograph, and here it is. I knew that “My Favourite” would fall under the catagory of either Architecture or Children.

I also contemplated posting this one which, like anything that is a favourite, was driven by emotion rather than the quality of the photograph

Emily and the Dalek.

This toy is well battered and fought over and it even comes out to restaurants with us!

Transparency

Is this a clever piece of Photoshopping?

The photo you are seeing is edited in Photoshop as far as cropping only, apart from that this photo is an unedited photo of Emily’s computer.

The idea was born (or stolen) from a post on Cheri’s website, which she had seen on Flickr.

So, how was it done?

Firstly, I chose Emily’s computer because hers has an LCD monitor which doesn’t take up a lot of desk real estate. Then I took two photos, one with the computer off the desk, then one with it on.

Without moving the camera off the tripod I then transferred the images to my computer where I layered the two photographs together. marked out the shape of the monitor, then deleted all other content from the image.

The next trick was to use the transform tool to skew the image back into a rectangular shape followed by some cropping.

I then saved the image onto my S drive which is available to all the computers on the network and opened it up on Emily’s computer, made it the wallpaper and then took this photograph.

Was it worth it? I think so.. Was it totally geeky? Fuck yeah!
