I guess abstract was an appropriate choice of topic, or at the very least perfect for me this week.
There are two reasons for my posting this photo that are unrelated to each other apart from the fact that the subject married them.
The first is that I was experimenting this weekend with aperture settings and shutter speeds and this was the result of that. For anyone who cares about these things this is a 2 second exposure with an F8 setting taken on an overcast afternoon.
The second reason is Saturday I got googled for “Abstract Self Portrait”, something that doesn’t appear on this site but the hit came from two different menu items. I immediately thought of this photo.

This road is a service alley in the centre of Perth’s CBD. It sits between Hay and Murray Streets and is one of many such places that many people don’t know exist.

Despite my interest in this type of open shutter photography, I have not done much of it. This photo was actually just me experimenting one evening when I was in the city taking photos of the Christmas decorations.
I really should get out one evening and fill a memory card!

Yesterday, in my delivery area a factory unit went up in smoke. Apparently it was the warehouse for shoe retailer Betts and Betts, although I am not 100% sure of that as the information came from my mail delivery point in one of the neighbouring warehouses.
Joe in Scotland has an interest in emergency vehicles and so I immediately thought of him.

Ok. The DOM menu that I had been working on and having problems with is now fixed and online. Looks pretty flash, I think. Of course feedback from Geek and Techie readers is always appreciated.
