In regards to something Flip wrote on her blog –
and no one quits watching Big Brother simply because I say it exploits both participants and viewers
Big Brother .. That show was the final straw… I boycotted the network that runs that series here in Australia nearly 3 years ago now. I have no regrets about doing it, even though it is the network that televises the Simpsons.
Slowly the other commercial networks fell and now, I rarely watch TV at all.
Big Brother… Just say no!

Time for some Housekeeping (apologies if you haven’t got a broadband internet connection) and upload some photos that I have been meaning to put online.
Firstly we have my Christmas eve dinner. Yorkshire puddings, oven roasted vegetables, roast beef, roast pork and a collection of fresh vegetables.
After posting some smokey city photos during the bushfires a couple of weeks ago I managed to get this photo by um.. sticking the camera out the window while driving.. Shhh
On the weekend I went with to the zoo with my kids, my brother, his wife, their kids and my mother. The crocodile photo from the Thursday challenge was taken that day, along with this photo of a Sumatran tiger. It is a sad fact that there are more of these animals in captivity than in their natural environment.
I took some photos of plants in my mothers garden the other day and I was really happy with the result of this Cacti photo.

Cold Blooded Killer
The enclosure at the Perth Zoo is totally awesome. An artificial billabong with a glass wall makes for an interesting view of this fearsome Australian reptile.

This photo was taken at the same time as the photo for the Black and White challenge. The photograph is terribly busy which means it is perfect for this weeks challenge

5 o’clock shadow
This is horribly narcissistic of me, but as soon as I started thinking “how can I get a different spin on shadow” this concept landed in my head!

There have been bushfires in the hills to the east of the city. These fires are threatening the residential areas that lie on the edge of the escarpment. This morning I was unable to see the city as I drove in, the buildings started to appear through the thick smoke haze as I crossed the Windan Bridge that takes the Graham Farmer freeway over the Swan river into East Perth.
I really wanted to get a photograph of that, but with nowhere to stop it just was not possible
I did manage to take some photos from within the city.
Two more, looking out the window…
