Photo Quest was just a little different this month. We were given the option of displaying failed photo’s from a recent holiday or photos you would take as a tourist in your own town. I chose the latter.

I sort of feel like this one has been a bit of a no brainer for me. I had a couple of ideas I was contemplating running with, but because of my workload this week I simply have not been able to do any. Instead I took one from my stock, something that I try to avoid for meme challenges
If I discover “time” I will possibly pursue one of my other ideas but for now, let me assure you that the mandarins on my mothers tree are indeed as sweet and tasty as they look.

Ok. Stage one of the update is completed and seems to be working with out any glitches. I have only changed the links to the images in all the files as it occurred to me that if i made the filenames correspond to the image name as I have in the past it would cause a whole number of 404 errors, especially from places like Flips Photo Quest or google
Not that I don’t think my 404 error page is pretty cool, it’s just that I do not want it to become a prominent part of the site.
I am undecided whether to change the filename of the Photo Friday/ Theme Thursday/ Thursday Challenge photos as these are all currently in series, but I definitely have to start on the images in the members gallery next.
Once I have done that I will write an image page in php so that you can view all the images on the site thus eliminating the need for a static page for each image. I have already done that on my parents site.
Speaking of my parents site.. it is here – (Update 2010 and now it’s gone!)
All I want to do now is slightly modify the header image and I will be happy!

I got to do one of my favourite things on Wednesday, and that is go shopping for computer parts. Even better was that I didn’t have to pay!
A friend of mine was going to go out and spend big dollars on a new computer as his was running rather slow, so I suggested that I build one for him. That way I got to indulge in my geeky past-time and he got a new machine for a lot less money than buying a name brand.
I put it together on Wednesday afternoon but because I was transferring the OS from the old machine to the new machine I wanted to make sure that the software environment was up to scratch, otherwise I would just be transferring the old problems to the new machine.. And what problems there were!
The virus scanner was showing up as clean but I then went and did a scan using Spybot and found it riddled with Trojans, adware and diallers.
Having to reboot after each stage was a nightmare too because he was totally correct about the old machine being slow. Ten minutes to boot, my god!

I am just not a sporty person. Apparently there is some kind of sports carnival going on in a place called umm .. Athens.. at the moment, and it seems to be all people can talk about. Anyway, I thought that this weeks theme would be a perfect excuse to photograph my bike, something I have been half-heartedly contemplating for a little while now.
